Is there a way to print a post on this?

How do I print a post?

Control P ? or were you looking for something different? Or, are you not on Windows?

Hi Tuni,

I have a Mac. There are two ways of doing it:

  1. Use “Command” P and you get a nice page to print or save as PDF. It is in serif which I find more difficult to read on a computer

  2. Use the “Print” option of your browser and use “Landscape” option. It will include the sidebar but your PDF will be in “sans serif” (I believe it’s Helvetia) which is much easier and faster to read.

Hope that helps.

This is a correction to my post above:

For MacBook and iMacs here are the best print options I could figure out:

1. If you want to physically print out a post or thread, use “Command P" and you’ll get a PDF in a serif font. Serif fonts like Times New Roman or Baskerville are easier to read and more elegant than sans serif fonts like Helvetica or Verdana. The latter looks horrible when printed out.

2. To keep a PDF with the non-serif font, (non-serif fonts are easier to read online or on your devices), be sure to first click the three bars on the upper left to remove the sidebar, then just click print in the browser’s drop-down menu and you get a perfect PDF. I tried several browsers, it worked with all of them.

iPhone:

Sorry, I can’t help. I have to confess I only use it as a phone, to text, and as an alarm clock as plenty of data on security breaches have shown that hackers concentrate more and more on mobile devices. In addition, there were some serious security issues with the iOS not too long ago. Be sure to always update your software as soon as notified.

Perhaps you can figure out from the Mac instructions above what you need to do on an iPhone or somebody here can provide the information. Just try out the methods you used before the TMF migration. (I wish The Fool had provided a list of some basic instructions but perhaps it’s in the works).

Best,

I. M.

Thanks, I do use both my iPhone and MBPro. There must be a way to print from the phone- who else of the powers that be should I ask ? Why does this have to be so non- user friendly? Grrrr

You can print from your phone, just like you would print any normal webpage.

It will print the entire topic, not a single post. The new software has no way to view a single post, everything is always threaded.

On my iPhone, I could possibly print by copy and paste to maybe my e-mail and then print from that. There really is no ability in this new platform that gives one any options to print - that I can find - this is definitely a problem for me. Grrrr

To print on an iphone, tap on the share icon, and then scroll to print.
