Kill switch in F35

Be careful investing in Military stocks. Our “allies” might not be buying.

** Donald Trump could deactivate supplies of American F-35 fighter jets making their way to Germany at the push of a button known as a “kill switch”, officials fear.

Germany is set to receive 35 of the world’s most advanced fighter jets for €8.3 billion (£6.9 billion) next year in a deal with the US.

The ability of the US to flip a switch that would render them inoperable has long been the subject of speculation, but until now, it has not been proven.**

With Musk threatening to turn off starlink, now kill switches in military equipment. Who is going to buy?

You left off the question mark in the thread title.

Perhaps not a literal switch, but reality may come pretty close.

The U.S. will have full control over upgrades and software improvements necessary to keep the Canadian military’s new fleet of F-35 fighter jets flying. The Department of National Defence has dismissed claims the U.S. has a “kill switch” that can disable the $19-billion aircraft fleet, but it did acknowledge the Americans control the software and hardware upgrades needed for continued operations of the plane.

And with the US proving to be an unreliable source for parts and ammo? Can’t think of a better reason for NATO to standardize on an EU design instead.

When they go dark, just like starlink, is anyone going to buy them? You have an oligarchy class controlling foreign governments. Crazy.
