Whenever I buy a new Kindle book, and download and open it for the first time, it jumps to the first page of what it thinks is the “writing” and doesn’t just open at the cover. I think this is idiotic. I ALWAYS want to read all the stuff that comes before the putative “first page”. I’m looking for a way to change this default. Anyone?

I am pretty sure that is programmed into the book. There are a few that don’t do that, but it is clearly expected behavior.
