I’m a Love Doctor (LD), but I don’t like to make a big deal of it.
Population and economic impacts aside, it’s a bad idea to cut funding for scientific research willy-nilly. Just one of the precursors to a new dark age.
It seems self-evident that smaller communities that are directly affected by cuts will see bigger and more immediate impacts.

It seems people have a habit of claiming titles they are not entitled to. We have Captains, Doctors and now a General. Yes I claim being a General because I generally am wrong about all of the things I talk about.

In each case, TPTB are confident they can buy anything they want. But, like any USian, they want it cheaper. They figure everything can be had cheaper offshore: educated people, engineering, production, scientific and medical discovery, so parallel endeavors in the US can be defunded to cover another tax cut for them.

I pretend that if I ‘understand’ these JCs thoughts (and keep in mind their VC POV biases), I’ll have some ‘better’ understanding of how the JCs are lobbying the government.

Honda is a non-union shop in the US. They would not be looking to hire UAW workers.
On the other hand, I have commented before that GM may look at buying that plant back, or leasing it from Foxconn, to bring production of the Equinox SUV back from Mexico.

All the Japanese Korean factories are nonunion. Not true of BMW.
Workers use union threat to drive pay increases. They received a pay raise and do not have to pay union dues.
