Little Children to Forfeit Their Lives and Futures in Florida

Who cares right?

Another ā€œPlan Steveā€ being realized. (frightening, isn’t it?) One obvious question; if you let kids work nights, when they have school the next day, as the article says, how are they supposed to stay awake in school?

The state’s legislature on Tuesday advanced a bill that would loosen child labor laws, allowing children as young as 14 years old to work overnight shifts. If the new law is passed, teenagers would be able to work overnight jobs on school days. They are currently prevented from working earlier than 6:30 am or later than 11 pm per state law.

Clearly, the next step is for the state to lower the age where kids can drop out of school and ā€œlearn the dignity of workā€. Currently, the drop out age in Florida is 16. ā€œPlan Steveā€ calls for Prole spawn to drop out after 8th grade, which would generally be about age 14. If the state can induce half the kids to drop out at 8th grade, they can reduce funding for high schools, and give the money to the ā€œJCsā€ instead.

Now for the other side of ā€œPlan Steve to save Social Securityā€: make SS a disability only benefit, so able bodied people, regardless of age, are forced back into the work force, and paying taxes.

I always loved the ā€œdignity of workā€ thing.

I found much more dignity once I’d accumulated enough capital to eliminate ā€œthe requirement to subject myself to the supervision of an employer.ā€

A subtle way of reminding Proles they are nothing, if they don’t work. And I hear it from both sides of the aisle.

Absolutely!

The Corporate DEMs are just as bad as the GOP. It’s the bipartisan culture of corruption.

Just playing devil’s advocate…there is dignity in working. That doesn’t mean you have to work for someone else.

I think many underestimate how many in the younger generations want to do nothing but sit around, sucking on the parental teet as long as they can.

I’m not suggesting this law is good, it’s not. Allowing 14 year old kids to work overnight shifts targets lower socio-economic children. Education is the keystone for them crawling up the ladder, Florida is hamstringing their future.

TPTB seem to think that education, like almost everything else, should be rationed by ability to pay. I saw an article on the wire this morning of how much federal funding each state’s education system receives. Most of them were between $2,000 and $3,000/student/year. Kill DoE, and that money is gone. Will the people with the money in each state pay tax to make up the difference? More likely they will demand the state use it’s shrinking budget to subsidize sending their spawn to private school, so there is even less for the Proles. Like I said above, push Prole spawn to drop out of school by 8th grade, so the public school budget can be cut farther, and the money used to benefit the ā€œJCsā€.

Give the parents govt money for ā€˜home schooling’ and then just don’t worry what happens to the money or the kids. That’s what Utah has decided to do.

Florida to stipulate all politicians are classified as children mandated to work at jobs ā€œAmericans won’t takeā€.

I say this only half in jest: it’s starting to look like you’ve got a crystal ball, lol.

As I said in another thread, all I need to do is put on my JC hat, and exercise my MBA. Others conceded, several years ago, that Rant #37, first spelled out around 2004 has only been confirmed by subsequent events. The latest confirmation: the so-called ā€œDOGE checksā€: payable only to people who are net payers of taxes. How are the DOGE checks funded? By taking away from the lowest income people, ie, not the people supposedly receiving the checks.

That would be nobody. Because everybody gets more from the govt than they pay in.
