A seemingly minor proposed change in the Florida law regarding child labor. The one word difference changes the limits on hours worked from a mandate, to an option. Currently, a child can drop out of school in Florida at 16. With no hard limit on the number of hours that can be worked in a week, many may decide they would rather have the money than an education. Others may actually prefer to stay in school, but will sleep through class because a āJCā demands they work more hours, or be fired and replaced by someone who will work all the hours.
There is also a video report from Scripps News embedded in the article that is interesting.
again, please ignore the inflammatory rhetoric in the piece.
