The two parties expected to form Germany’s next government have agreed to a much stricter approach to migration in the wake of the far right’s best showing at a national election since World War II, according to a draft of the negotiating text seen by POLITICO.
The center-right Christian Democrats (CDU/CSU) of incoming Chancellor Friedrich Merz and the center-left Social Democratic Party (SPD) approved a raft of policies that would form the cornerstone of the likely government’s policies over the next four years.
They include a huge increase in the capacity for detaining migrants pending deportation, the suspension of family reunification for migrants for two years, the expansion of the list of safe countries that migrants can be sent back to to include Algeria, India, Morocco, and Tunisia, the introduction of rules to deport migrants who face prison sentences and the abolishment of mandatory legal assistance before repatriation.
The agreement would represent Germany’s strictest migration policies in decades.

1. The Swedish state will pay migrants (including people with Swedish citizenship) some $34,000 to return to their homelands.
2. The Swedish state is going to tighten citizenship laws by imposing language, cultural, and longer residency requirements.
3. The Swedes are going to tighten their refugee policies to “the strictest in Europe”.
4. The Swedes plan to let more migrant visas expire each year than they approve. Causing a natural decline in non-permanent resident migrants.
5. The Sweden Democrats are pushing through with a media blitz policy to inform migrant communities about the remigration opportunities.
6. The Swedish state is going to make it law that all public workers, including teachers, doctors, and other state employees, must report any interaction with an illegal immigrant.

Sweden’s fertility rate is 1.52. If they chase out all the recent immigrants, and prevent new immigration, who is going to do the work while the white Swedes age and die off?

Denmark, which introduced a similar remigration initiative years ago, has been a key point of reference for Swedish policymakers seeking to balance migration with national welfare sustainability.
It seems Sweden & Denmark want to rid their respective nations of folks [likely refugees caused by USA War on Terrorism] that cannot integrate into the Scandinavian nations. And they likely do not have the education & skills necessary to do the occupations needed to be filled.
around 2.1 million of Sweden’s inhabitants, or 20% of the population, were born abroad, with Syria, Iraq, Iran, Somalia and Afghanistan the most common non-EU countries of birth.
I do not know how many of them are economic non-contributing folks. If it is a significant number that is an additional load onto native Swedish taxpayers.
They will need fewer police, so they can do other jobs. Sweden has become the bomb capital of Europe.

Even if they can eliminate ALL police, the issue of no growth population is much more difficult to solve. When a population stops growing, it gets older, so there needs to be more caregivers for the elderly. Also as a population grows older, there are fewer and fewer young people able to do physically demanding jobs (running power lines, heavy machinery operation, maintaining infrastructure, etc). All those things need to be done to keep a society functioning. And this is completely ignoring the economic aspect of it, which also has a great effect.

True dat. Not sure if it’s still accurate, but when gang crime started to explode, most perpetrators were 2nd and 3rd generation immigrants. Immigrants don’t integrate on their own in a country like Sweden.
High youth unemployment, education issues, and societal racism all contribute to their crime problem. Sure, they can re-immigrate people, but they will create other problems as a result.

What all the hysteria about “rigging an election” misses, is LePen has been criminally convicted of embezzling over 4M, from the EU parliament, for the benefit of her own political party. If the court wanted to smack down the entire National Front, or whatever it’s called now, they would have banned the entire party from running anyone for office, for it’s part in the embezzlement.
Judge Benedicte de Perthuis said Le Pen had been “at the heart” of a scheme to misappropriate more than 4 million euros ($4.3 million) of EU funds and use them to pay the far-right party’s staff back home.
Bolsonaro is charged with trying to overthrow an election, that he lost.
Are we supposed to ignore criminal conduct by right wing pols, just because they cry “victim”?

The Beeb was reporting on LePen’s case last night. Her comments/whines are right out of the USian playbook about how the prosecution was entirely political, it’s about election suppression, and how she is a “victim”.

Meanwhile, received a letter from the INS today. I thought the envelope was a bit light, to contain copies of my grandfathers naturalization papers. It was a one page letter, telling me the docs will be send to me, on a CD.
Irks me that I probably had the original docs in hand, 30 years ago. I tossed all my dad’s family papers in the dumpster when I moved in 96. Never thought the US would get this nutty.

These requests are not free. At the time I made my request, last July, I paid $30. When I was at a historical lecture last September, I asked the presenter how long these requests take. He said there has been a lot of back and forth about the price being increased, a lot.
