Mass Migration is a Threat

center-left Frederiksen told POLITICO in an interview that the Trump administration’s Vice President JD Vance was right when it comes to migration and limiting the mass arrival of foreigners.

“I consider this mass migration into Europe as a threat to the daily life in Europe,” said the leader of the wealthy Scandinavian welfare state, echoing what Vance said weeks earlier at the Munich Security Conference.

*The center-left politician stands out in a sea of conservatives in Europe as one of the only socialist leaders remaining in power across the bloc, in large part due to her severe policies on migration. Elected in 2019, she doubled down on a wholesale turnaround of Denmark’s immigration policy, which moved from openness to one of the strictest migration policies in Europe, if not the world.

Ms Frederiksen is willing to do what is necessary to protect the Danish nation’s culture.

I recall the Danes taking jewelry and other valuables from the migrants as they made their way to a hospitable Sweden.

Was that necessary?

Any one of us would migrate away from a war torn country. How would we feel about being fleeced then turned away?

We wouldn’t like that. But tut tut, now, what’s that got to do with the subject of the thread?

Besides all of the NonWestern world has prospered by the mere existence of Western Civ. Everybody’s quality of life, standard of living, and life spans are incalculably better due to the inventions and yes, the travels of Europeans. Sorry but that is The Story of Humanity from Day 1 to the Present. Why can they not make a go of it? Why so little respect for themselves and the rest of the world? We gave them everything. We gave them the world. We gave them the future. Five-hundred years of human progress. You’re welcomed.

Hey, instead of extending any more hospitality why not just call them colonizers, because that is exactly what the game is. Then they’ be racists by definition. I doubt any number of them coming to The West would solve all our problems while creating none. Let them start the world over again if they have it within them.

I know, it’s so frustrating that they didn’t even thank us for the Smallpox.

Geez, get a grip. I hate to break it to you, but indigenous societies might have been just fine without being enslaved and taken advantage of.

There was a good line, spoken years ago, how the Middle East and North African societies were advancing mathematics and astronomy, when the Britons were wearing animal skins and painting themselves blue.

Of course mass migration is a threat to the culture and identity of most nations. That has long been the history of Europe with the disruptions caused by migrations of the Gauls, Angles, Saxons, Lombards, etc. But this is not true for the United States.

Most cultures/nationalities have a genetic component or foundation because of their tribal origins. If I ask you to picture a Danish, Irish, Pakistani, Japanese, or Mexican person you would almost certainly envision someone with distinctive and characteristic physical traits for each. Furthermore, most cultures evolved insulated from much outside influences because of language and geographical barriers and so each became very differentiated. Not surprising therefore that Japan as one example would have difficulties dealing with a large influx of Danes or Mexicans.

But America is different. Picture an American and that image could resemble anyone from Abe Lincoln to Beyonce to Geronimo. Our culture evolved from many different cultures. America is not disrupted by the influx of people who look different because Americans all look different.

American Exceptionalism is based on what has often been called the American Experiment. This is the revolutionary notion that a nation can succeed based on the general acceptance of a unifying set of democratic governing principles rather than a single tribal culture or religion. Anyone can become an American, both legally and culturally, if they accept the principles embodied in the US Constitution and Declaration of Independence. What you look like or where you are from doesn’t matter. Very few other nations can make the same claim. Foreigners can legally become German or Portuguese or Korean citizens, but becoming an assimilated member of those cultures is difficult. It is hard for a foreign-born not to be seen as different.

Less so in America.

This is Civics 101 folks. This is America’s super power. Immigrants are who we are.

“No, we are not going to take the jewelry away from people,” Jakob Ellemann-Jensen told CNN’s Christiane Amanpour on Thursday. “I mean, this is outrageous. We would never do this.”

But he didn’t deny the essence of the bill: that people seeking refuge in Denmark may, if they have the means, be forced to contribute some of their wealth – and therefore belongings – to the Danish government.

But to Ellemann-Jensen, the proposal is fair – naturalizing newcomers to Denmark’s generous welfare state.

“All Danish citizens and refugees coming here receive universal health care; you receive education from preschool to university, and you receive elderly care; you receive language training and integration training free of charge, paid for by the government,” he said.

“The only thing, the only demand that we set to measure this is if you have the means to pay for your housing and for your food – regardless of whether you are a Dane or whether you are a refugee – then you should.

“And if you can’t do this, then the government will provide for you. This is the essence of this bill.”

Pay to play I suppose.

I been wondering about Germany. I believe Zeihan says there are more Germans over age 50 than below 50. Germany will require mass Migration to remain a nation. Ultimately Germany will not be made up of ethnic Germans. der Former Leader circa 1933-45 would turn over in his grave!

True of the Old World but not so much of the New World which was decimated by Guns, Germs, and Steel. Assimilation varies by country in Latin America. In Venezuela the melting pot worked extremely well in part because, unlike the Pilgrims, the Conquistadores didn’t initially bring women from Europe starting the mixing of races early on. Also the native population was not as numerous as in Mexico and Peru. There was no need for Civil Rights legislation. Hugo Chavez tried to introduce racial discrimination but Venezuelans would have non of it, it disappeared soon .enough.

Sheesh, man, they’re escaping violence and war. Give them a chance to gather themselves, a safe harbor for just a bit?

Huh. When I first clicked on the link I figured it was backlash against Americans fleeing the USA.

And once enough have left; we change the nation’s name to Trumplandia.

That’s the problem. They don’t. The only ‘wealth’ they have is a ring on their finger or a necklace around their neck and you’re going to take that? Give them a chance to put down their bags and get a job. Maybe find a roof to put over their heads. Sheesh, give them a chance.
