MF SA and MF RB new format - a question?

In the past I could always look at past issues and past recommendations. I can no longer find them. Have they blocked access to old issues, and if so, WHY???

Saul,

If you navigate to the “Coverage” tab of either service, there is a link on the right side called “Issue Archive”.

The old issues for SA are under the Coverage tab and then on the right side menu under Archives.

Thanks Craig and Barsi, they sure had them hidden away.

The new formats are driving me crazy. It’s going to take a while to adjust.

I am glad someone figured out how to find the old issues; I had yet to have located them. Good luck to the newbies who aren’t even aware of this aspect of the service. TMF has done a lousy job with this “upgrade”.

Craig and Barsi both noted that Coverage> Issue Archive allows access to past issues of SA and RB.

Unfortunately using Coverage> Issue Archive only showed me issues back to Dec 2012 for RB and Mar 2014 for SA (when you click on “next” it jumped to the present issue), which is very inadequate and far inferior to the old system.

I am unhappy that TMF is making changes that make it harder and less intuitive to find information, especially on recommendations that are no longer active. This is implicitly in opposition to TMF’s stated mission, “To help the world invest. Better.” since implicit in “better” is ‘easier and more intuitive’.

That being said I can still get to all old recommendations in SA, and old active recommendations in RB (I was not able to find my way to old inactive recs). I know the following works for me as a Fool One member, and expect it will work for members of SA and RB.

In Stock Advisor, you can get all the way back to 2002 using Recommendation>Versus (sort on Recommendation date), click on a stock from date of interest taking you to stock summary, then go to the bottom of the stock summary to click on the recommendation date of interest (giving you the original text which you can page through). This is the only way I have found to see original text on recommendations that are no longer active.

In Rule Breakers, I have not found a way to get back to original text for recommendations that are no longer active, but for active recommendations back to 2004, you can do the following. Rule Breakers> Recommendations>Active (sort on Rec date), click on stock symbol taking you to stock summary, scroll down to bottom, then click on rec date of interest which takes you to the original text.

I just looked at RB and it is stranger than that.

When I go to the Issue Archive:

that first page goes back to NuVasive & Cvent March 26, 2014.

Clicking on Next takes me to a new page:
http://newsletters.fool.com/1069/coverage/2.aspx?
but it is not an Issue Archive page</i>.

The “next” (older) Issue Archive pages appear to be available if you figure out the URL manually.

Maybe you should tell the Fool about that. Probably emailing one of thnsenior fools would do it. They all post somewhere or other.

Hi, all,

Thanks for noticing these bugs on the updated Coverage pages. We’ve put them on the tech team’s list, and I’m hopeful we can get these fixed in the coming week.

In addition, there is a page that lists the closed positions for each service, from a link at the very bottom of the Active recommendations list:

http://newsletters.fool.com/18/recommendations/david/sold.as…
http://newsletters.fool.com/18/recommendations/tom/sold.aspx…
http://newsletters.fool.com/1069/recommendations/sold.aspx

(those pages, too, have some bugs we’ll clean up).

Thanks again for your vigilance and eagle eyes!

Fool on!
