Mulino told reporters after the meeting that Rubio made “no real threat of retaking the canal or the use of force.”…
The president did say Panama would not be renewing its agreement with China’s Belt and Road Initiative when it expires.

Approximately 5,600 Americans died while working on the construction of the Panama Canal. This number includes deaths from disease, accidents, and other work-related causes during the U.S. effort from 1904 to 1914.
oopsie…better get your narrative in line, or you will be punished for “wrong thought”.
“The United States, I mean think of this, spent more money than ever spent on a project before and lost 38,000 lives in the building of the Panama Canal.”

So you are saying just another day on the job. You do realize that is why Unions were formed? Naw you don’t have any understanding of that. But back in those days companies were notorious for killing their workers. But realize, the workers never were given the projects they worked on. Those were given to the Gould’s, the Vanderbilt’s and others of their ilk. The Robber Baron’s, ah what a time.
Ayup. The “gilded age”, the age from 1880 to 1912, before the income tax, when tariffs were a major source of revenue. The stated objective of TI (I have that right now, “the incumbent”?)

I think about 25K to 30K of those lives lost were in the previous attempt by the French.
So real lives lost, but not part of the US effort.
The US imposed more safety efforts and figured out how to control malaria and yellow fever…partly by controlling mosquitos.

“I have that right now, “the incumbent”?)”
I thought it meant *The Idiot
That’s how I’m using it
Yet another fact check:
During the U.S. period of construction from about 1904 to 1914, about 6,000 people died, Parker said in the BBC interview, “almost all of whom were from Barbados.” About 300 Americans died in this effort, he said.

Hey Bob, are you OK if we deploy the US military to:
I seem to recall a desire from many that we get out of foreign military engagements but it sure seems that at least the threats of such have grown substantially.
