Perhaps that development money should have been put into developing a stripped down Model 3 or Y.
There doesn’t seem to be a big market for an EV pickup. We have already covered & discussed the deficiencies of an EV pickup on the board.

My former boss bought these at introduction and at full price. He used them for under 2 weeks and then they were placed in his desk drawer until he retired and cleaned out his office.
I put my $100 down for a RWD truck with stainless steel exoskeleton and 250 mile range for $40k. Still waiting…lol! Cheapest one currently is $70k. I got my money back.
