Musk thinks there is fraud in Social Security

One thing I had not thought of. I figured Musk’s control of Treasury’s payment system was only about stiffing entities that were deemed guilty of “wrong thought”. Most companies have legal departments, that could push back. Who do not have their own, big, legal department? Proles. Stop everyone’s Social Security, until they prove they are citizens, and earned every penny?

Musk suggested he was seeking to gain access to the system because of concerns about fraudulent payments.

“The @DOGE team discovered, among other things, that payment approval officers at Treasury were instructed always to approve payments, even to known fraudulent or terrorist groups,” he wrote on X. “They literally never denied a payment in their entire career. Not even once.”

Fortunately, I have every tax return I ever filed, going back over 50 years. I can show every W2, to prove I earned every penny. And I have my birth certificate, and both parent’s birth certificates, to prove I am neither an illegal or “anchor baby”.

So an Illegal wants control over the payment system and they think it is ok?

He paid over $200M. That apparently makes it OK.

Ahh pay to play that makes sense.

While TI can not shut down payments he can make the payments into a trickle per day.

For instance an Executive Order that he sign every check. He signs a few checks and calls it a day. Each day the backlog grows by the millions of checks.

TI does not care about other people’s frustrations. He likes them frustrated. TI has no problem being hugely unpopular.

Musk is a US citizen.

Are you suggesting that naturalized American citizens, like Musk and myself, are “illegal”?

Musk violated his original VISA, thus making him an illegal alien.

That was 20 yrs ago?
You don’t think that’s been rectified?

You think that musk DOES NOT have legal US resident status, of some sort?

I’m gonna need some proof of your accusations.

ONM: Wikipedia says:

I’m gonna believe Wikipedia over baseless internet rumor mongering.

As for the BASELESS allusions that Elon is somehow gonna ILLEGALLY whatever the US Treasury data…

ALL MY LIFE I’ve heard about SS n tax fraud and fraudulent government bloat. And every time it’s been a lament that
“our legally elected representatives won’t fix it. Instead, they get elected and enrich themselves in the swamp”.

I keep hearing “we need REAL leaders” to “drain the swamp”.

The only thing I do is vote.
I’m not gonna grab a gun and march on the capitol.

Now. Here’s someone who IS willing to “do something about it” AND has the resources and clout to do that something.

I’m willing to give him a chance to get rid of the fraud.

The rest of us only complain and never really “drain the swamp”…

But. YMMV as they say.

If Kamala had George Soros doing the very same thing what would your response be?

A private citizen, unelected, is stopping payments authorized by Congress on no other basis than HE thinks there is fraud. No investigations, no court cases, no nothing.

Give me a break. This is a coup and you’re cheering it on.

And have you ever considered that a giant chunk of that message has always been a divisive misinformation message to convince you that other Americans were getting more than they were entitled to, at your expense?

Because that’s the way I have looked at that message since Reagan was peddling it, and Bush “the Elder” too. The “zero-sum” message has been an effective political message for your whole life.

'sides, legal citizenship isn’t worth much when the misinformation war degrades the validity of issued documents. Once you’re sitting in Guantanamo or El Salvador (hyperbolically speaking) you’re not going to have much of a documents case, no matter what.

As far as ‘fraudulent’ SSA payments would go, I would guess that what they’re rolling out as explanations is also a lot of hyperbole; sure there may be some fraud in there, but there’s also some real, American, very-old-people whose existences are pretty tied to that money showing up. The numbers are huge numbers, because our nation moves huge2 numbers all the time. People have little sense of scale for the numbers, so they seem huge compared to their numbers.

Grabbing all the payments data and then handing off that data to disinformation warriors like Mike Flynn is a really good reason to think that we’re all being lied to.

People like dividends are driven by fear and anger. Lots of fear and anger. And those emotions NEVER have a happy ending for a country.

Recall the report, last year some time, of a man who lived and worked, and paid in to SS, through his adult life. When he tried to claim the benefits he paid for, SS told him he was not a citizen.

I would not discount the possibility that anyone with a non-white sounding name, would, by default, have his qualification for benefits questioned, even though he paid in to the system for 50 years.

Always known. The overpaid are called “JCs”.

Y’all are welcome to your own YMMV opinions.

Y’all use misdirection (false equivalent, red herrings, a pantheon of logical errors n fallacies, etc) to justify your emotional opinions.

In the end, these are YOUR OPINIONS.

IDK how this will turn out.
I’m willing to give Musk the benefit of the doubt, until I have better data, facts.
I reserve the right to move my opinion right or left as REAL FACTS reveal themselves.

Good luck to US n us.

It’s not an opinion. For starters let’s look at Impoundment Control Act (ICA) of 1974. The Executive Branch, let alone a private citizen, does NOT have the right to stop payments appropriated by Congress. And that is EXACTLY what is happening here. Musk is playing Judge/Juror/Executioner here.

Again, if Kamala had Soros do THE VERY SAME THING your “opinion” would be very different.

He is now.

Did you you or your brother admit that you were in the country illegally?

Exactly, not only that it is Un-Constitutional. They do not have the power to create an agency nor do they have the power to appoint anyone over that agency. Only Congress has that power.

ok. I’ll bite.
What exactly do you think I should do to stop whatever it is in your opinion is ‘wrong’?

seriously. I want to know what you think I should be doing.
