AMD will report earnings next week, a couple of weeks before NVDA. The results from AMD will give us some clues on how well NVDA might do and it could move NVDA’s stock price.

Thanks for the heads up, just took a gamble on NVDA Oct 27 2017 $210 calls for $0.50 to take advantage if there is an upward spike.
Looks like AMD announces after market close on 10/24 (next Tuesday).
The temptation is of course to view AMD earnings as good news for NVIDIA no matter what… an AMD earnings beat means one could expect even greater demand for NVIDIA chips but an AMD disappointment could still mean that NVIDIA is outcompeting them…
