Are you certain the Lisbon one isn’t photoshopped? That guy on the left looks rather pale.

He does, and I’ve often wondered how that happened. The only theory I have is the shot was taken in 2014 with a “pocket” Nikon underwater camera in a neighborhood called the Alfama which has a bunch of narrow allays. I must have left one of the “inappropriate” picture format settings on the camera (maybe “underwater” which filters out blue and enhances reds or “food” which makes food shots look better, but I’ve never researched what the compromise is. The camera had over a dozen of these sort of settings) and the guy must have been in a shadow although his hair is pretty white.

Anyhow, originally he wasn’t supposed to be in the shot and simply walked across when I snapped the picture, sort of screwing up the photo. When I looked at the shot afterwards, I thought it was pretty cool and didn’t crop him out.
