Be cautious about high yield muni bond funds. High-rated munis usually yield less than comparable bonds that are fully taxable. If they yield more, it’s likely that the municipality or other debtor has shaky credit and may be on the verge of bankruptcy. Many are.

If you want to shop Treasuries, here’s the auction schedule. Individuals will need to set up an account on the Treasury Direct web site which appears to date to 1980. Link to a bank account to transfer money.

These are CEFS, not ETFS, so trade at prem or disc to NAV. Most of these are also levered 30-40% and return capital which is why the high “yields”.
