OT: How parents take care of their children in war zones

When I saw this photo of Maksim Panasiuk, 33, holding his 10-month-old daughter, Valeriya, as they waited to depart Kherson by train on Monday, it made me happy and sad. Happy that this father was taking his precious daughter to safety and sad that it was necessary because of the Russians invading Ukraine. Reminds me of the stories told to me of my father holding me (I was 21-months old) and my mother holding my brother (he was 2-weeks old) when we were escaping from Estonia in September 1944 because of the Russians invading Estonia.
