Yes it did. I don’t know if the discrepancy is the result of art students building the set, or a realization that some people considered the early 40s version “filth”.
The face on the set is the Mad Magazine guy, with the haircut and mustache.
Not too far off of the set in the movie, considering it was a high school production.
