Putins SadSack Parade (PssP)

Dear Putin, it’s the economy, Stupid!

Putin Victory Parade was all show (what there was of it) with no meat in it. What I found most interesting about the linked video is what Russians don’t talk about, the huge size of the economic support the Soviet Union got from America to fight the Germans on the Eastern Front. Time 15::05. Now the tables are turned, LendLease II is helping Ukraine defeat the West’s arch enemy, Russia.

It’s worse than that. The objective of the war was to stop NATO advances toward the Russian border.

Instead the complete opposite outcome (Putin’s Nightmare) is happening.

Finland to apply for Nato membership ‘without delay’

Published 21 minutes ago

Finland’s president and prime minister have called for the country to apply for Nato membership “without delay”.

Sauli Niinisto and Sanna Marin said in a joint statement they expected a decision in the next few days.

The move comes amid a surge in public support for Nato membership following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Sweden has said it will announce a similar decision on the same day.

NATO would not be Putin’s Nightmare if NATO didn’t have the economy to be a credible threat to Russia. Maybe you missed it but NATO countries all of a sudden decided to pay up the 2% of GDP contribution to NATO. As far as I can tell, paying up is an economic thingy.

Captain, that was an exceptional video. I watched the whole thing. I suggest any veteran of any armed forces who read METAR do the same. Putin’s psychopathy and lack of empathy for those fighting for his power grab in Ukraine make me burn.

The Russian military leaders in Ukraine have got to be meeting in secret to discuss how to get rid of Putin and who should replace him. Putin will be lucky to escape someone offing him if this video’s contents become well known inside Russia, and, with over 26,000 dead Russians today, you can bet the families back home are also going to say “Enough” and push for a change.

Because of your link, I just now followed @broe_jake on Twitter. He is a fellow veteran of America’s armed forces, and he did admirable work putting this video together. Jake’s video is what I’d expect from a 15 minutes segment from 60 Minutes.

Again, thank you. I gave you a shout-out on my Twitter thread #StandWithUkraine. Keep these finds coming, my man.

p.s. That look at the Allies’ “Lend-Lease” to Russia back in 1941-1945 is not well known. And the amount of Russian dead in Ukraine morgues, which Putin will not allow being shipped back to Russia, tells me Mad Vlad can’t hide the truth of his bloody mistakes much longer from angry family members wondering why their boys have not been in contact.

I agree with Jake that Putin has got to keep the populace subjugated by fear of the policemen and National guard types who are “reserves” but who will be needed to put down Russian dissent as more of Putin’s war crimes and mistakes become known. It stands to reason there were no call-ups on May 9th for “reserves” by Putin because he’s worried more about how the Russian death toll will eventually leak to next of kin.

Lastly, not offering any survivor benefits to families who lost sons on the sinking of the Moskva is cruel, but this shows Putin’s disdain for veterans serving and those who have died for his bloodlust for power. Putin is an uncaring son of Satan, and I’m an Atheist saying this.

Full NATO membership takes time.

Crawler on the BBC news last night: the UK has concluded mutual defense treaties with Sweden and Finland. The Brits have nukes.

NATO???

Germany has the economy to be a credible threat to Russia.

Britain has the economy to be a credible threat to Russia.

France has the economy to be a credible threat to Russia.

Canada has the economy to be a credible threat to Russia.

Heck, Italy - one of the EU’s economic sad cases - has the economy to be a credible threat to Russia.
