IBM is breaking out of its multi-year range, The company has undergone some significant changes during this period. I no longer follow the company. So I don’t know from the fundamental point of view, how things are. But the chart is breaking out.
My be @dividends20 has some thoughts that he could share…
Iger is coming back to Disney after a two year absence. Disney’s latest report was short on both revenue and profit, a rarity for them. Losses on Disney+ doubled, but those kinds of gargantuan losses should be past. People are traveling again, lines are as long as ever at theme parks.
There are some issues to be worked, but Disney will surely get a one day pop here, and perhaps start an upward trajectory based on hope for the next couple quarters.
Kingran,
You’re late to the trade. IBM should have been bought --per Quill’s Simon system-- on Oct 18.

There was a buy signal on 11/10/22 at 89.75 today @ open 100.05 now 97.83
Good article on WSJ newspaper on page B1
there is a SELL signal today @ 147.45 with a possible head fake.
Nice 22.50 percent profit since 10/14/22
Since the “V” would have about 28 out of 28 sucessful trades.
Charts don’t lie people do.
Quill,
First things first. It’s good to see that you’re posting again. Welcome back.
Second, I’d argue that the (most recent) entry signal for IBM happened Friday, 11/04, when prices closed above the MA pair/triplet, triggering the 'Wait One Rule. Monday’s price action provided confirmation. So the entry could’ve/should’ve been done the next day, 11/08.
11/09 saw a typical retracement back to support. (Well described by Weinstein in his book.) 11/10 saw prices resume the upward trend. How to handle the retracement is a post for another time. But a policy needs to be in place, because it happens all the time.
As for DIS, the soonest one could have responsibly gotten in was 11/11, due to the ‘Wait One Rule’, and a properly placed trailing stop would have kicked you out on the 16th.
