It looks like the entire 1st Tank Army was destroyed and pocketed around Izyum. We will learn that thousands of Russian soldiers were captured or fled the field. It will be interesting when ragged deserters start showing up at their homes around Russia. I suspect the Russian Army is spending as much time rounding up deserters in the rear as it is entrenching defensive lines, if they can entrench them at all. Indications are that the Ukrainian Army is already on the outskirts of Lysychansk and Svatove. Donetsk may be flanked soon, in which case the whole of the southern front would be at risk for Russia. They may very well be expelled from all of Ukraine before the first snow falls. Military analysts will be studying this one for the rest of history.
It’s funny how super-powers and have been super-powers are losing wars…
… with developing countries.

Nothing new.
Happened 246 years ago, too.

Knowing Russian prejudices, these men usually are not Europeans. Meaning if nothing can be spent nothing will be spent. Even if they walk off the job. Burying has often been out of the question as well, and the men are aware of that.
Putin is buying all Kim’s old Russkie equipment. Maybe he’ll rent Kim’s army too?
Steve
Kim’s army will take orders. Probably used to working in the cold.
Putin can not afford them.
Imagine the mercenaries have packed up and left a while ago.
I’m guessing NK may also be a conduit for Chinese equipment to get to Russia without a Chinese postage stamp being used.

Jeff,
Only if there is money involved. Cold hard cash. It is not like Putin’s credit is any good right now.
The Kremlin is running in the red. It is not DC where we can realistically borrow.
