The folks at Advanced Shipping & Trading released their report for this week
After last week’s busy Sale & Purchase activity, what’s in store this week? Well, a less active week.
- With vessels across the various categories, 14 bulker sales this week.
- Genco (GNK) shows up as both buyer and seller. With one Cape in, one Cape out, this is basically a fleet rejuvenation move.
- Three of the recent Star Bulk Carriers (SBLK) transactions show up in the report.
- 6 tanker transactions, Aframax and smaller
- Does an LR2 have a price premium because it can flip between trading clean and trading dirty? Last week Torm (TRMD) paid around $50M per LR2 (vessels built between 2010 - 2013) for an Aframax sized vessel
- 32 - 36 newbuild orders of different variety. Could potentially be 6 option vessels more (the Stolt Nielsen transaction has an option 6)
- ONE playing catch-up with European liner companies who ordered cleaner fuel vessels a few months back
