Entity listed this week, via a reverse merger - a fleet pool manager, Heidmar Maritime Holdings (HMR). The name sounded familiar, so I went digging … and yes, there was a reason it sounded familiar.
Heidmar was associated with George Economou. A C-suite involved with Economou’s DryShips & Ocean Rig UDW companies, Pankaj Khanna, eventually switched over and decided to get involved with Heidmar. More here

Pool management as a standalone business - IMHO, … Meh!! Years ago, like 20 - 25 years ago, if one owned a large fleet of vessels, then perhaps, fleet management was a thing. Frontline (FRO) comes to mind. In addition to managing their own vessels, Frontline Management Services, had a service for third parties e.g. Songa, Knightsbridge, Golden Ocean (affiliated), oil majors, etc and would manage the some, or all, the vessels of the third party. Again, a side business. Current entities who still manage vessels for others – Teekay (via TNK), Angeliki Frangou (via Navios Ship Management) and Tsakos (via Columbia Ship Management)
