Shocking - shocking, i say!

The utter lack of activity since my GBF in August is just shocking.

I really thought you would all rally around TryingMyBest or whatever he calls himself these days.

Except for a somewhat long-winded thread on Saul*, this place is a ghost town.

All the best, and go ESPR!

Dreamer

  • pretty sure that thread led to Saul’s abdication…hope you are all proud of yourselves!

Where did you post your GBF, Dreamer?

Your code is meaningless to me. No idea what you are talking about.

I believe it was his “Good Bye Forever” post.

Agree go ESPR… and not idea why there is an instance to try to discuss how ppl feel about how they were treated on the Saul board here. But it is your board so no reason it likely will continue if you want to leave… in which case, all the best

I have not been posting lately, for a variety of reasons. For one thing, I have several long-standing projects that have intractable problems in a cesspool of bureaucratic nonsense—and I have been writing letters and researching technical bulletins and administrative orders. Also, I am currently in the States, visiting my brother, so doing the above long distance. And having not been in the States since pre-COVID, let me just say that there has been a re-entry adjustment needed. This ain’t the town of my childhood anymore, Toto.
My portfolio has remained mostly defensive, which doesn’t necessarily mean non-volatile. 71% short term treasuries, 16% cash 7% bitcoin ETF, 3% JEPQ , and 2% ENVX. I am trading ESPR, ONDS and silver ETF. Today I am sub-1% in all three of them. My attention is directed at macro stuff and those discussions tend to the subjective and divisive so I mostly scribble notes to myself, rather than post. I am contemplating self-custody of bitcoin which probably means that I have drifted towards the tinfoil hat battalion.
My MF subscription is coming due and I am receiving noticeably more frequent and more targeted news and information coming in. May be too little too late, but we shall see.

KC, do you know any city that looks like it did 70 years ago?

Thanks for all the ESPR info here and the other board. it trades a little craze sometimes and I had fairly large buy limit order at 1.54 that never hit so had to pay a little more but we’ll see how it goes on earnings.

Yea maybe they should have rallied around me Dreamer, as I’m once again blowing the market away. Up 7% just today. Not that I’m looking for a following like you.

As for the markets, make no sense to me this rally the last week. I’ll take it though. Trimming across the board on names like HIMS and HOOD. Starting to raise cash and take some profits.

Up, oh yea I can’t say that here, as this is the place of diminished returns and hiding money under the mattress like a bunch of nutty grandads waiting for the end of days.

Kind of a good reason that the activity on this board is dead, when the pride piper of doom leaves.

Greetings, Citi. I guess this is as good a place as any to add to my travelog. Nutty grandad is sitting in Inchon airport (Korea for the uninitiated). Christmas day in the airport! On my way to Singapore, arriving just after the end of Christmas Day. Dear Wife never made it to USA so we are meeting in Singapore so she can get a week’s vacation and then back to our hilltop home.

Still loaded up on short term treasury ETF’s, JEPQ, bitcoin ETF’s, cash…, a bit of ESPR.

Trip has had its share of anxiety over reservations, getting to stations and airports, crowded security checkpoints with randomly varying procedures, and this last, 13 hour flight on which I somehow had a center seat. Oh well… But good visits with brother, Daughter One and Daughter Two and 3 grand kids. 23 years of retirement, when do I start springing for business class?

Enjoy the day, y’all.

P.S., heck of an interesting week in bitcoin

Enjoy Singapore, certainly not the cheapest place for a holiday between the shopping and overpriced drinks.

I am trying to learn how to spend money.

Singapore is the place then. I’m just getting ready to go visit my mum otherwise would suggest to grab a drink while you are here… met a few TMFers that stop through here

A few years ago I had repeatedly read that Singapore would be the cleanest country in the world, but Japan seemed much more civilized and much cleaner to me.
However, Singapore is light years ahead of the United States, Canada and Europe.
Merry Christmas everybody!

Don’t forget to have some Durian since they are in season at the moment

How can you possibly tell?

They don’t sell it when not in season. It is mostly sold within 24 hours of taking from the tree. Not that it makes it good
