Rec-arama but sadly we only get one. You got it

You elect Greg Abbott and you get ERCOT. Somebody somewhere thought it would be a great idea if Texas had its very own pet power company. It’s completely isolated from the national grid and there is no backup if things go off the rails like they did in the winter of 2021

On Dec. 31, the state’s Department of Health and Human Services released its final report placing the number of dead at 246. The study aimed to include deaths caused directly by the storm (such as hypothermia), as well as “indirect deaths” — people who died later of injuries related to the blackout and freezing temperatures.

good thing it’s summer and people don’t freeze to death in the summer.Oh…wait…

I know that things are different there but after all Texas is a whole other country. But seriously, the way utilities are set up across the country is pretty stupid as well. The only thing you can do is go completely off the grid and be self sufficient, which isn’t possible for most folks. I still don’t understand how some of these companies aren’t a violation of antitrust laws. I guess it has to do with the infrastructure that’s needed. It appears that they can do whatever they want. Then again I’m no expert on the matter.

AC hope you are staying safe
