Tea bag safety vs. alternatives

Last year, I began cold brewing a variety of different teas. Teas have a variety of nice flavors and are said to have health benefits. (Hibiscus is said to be particularly good for immune system health.) So far, my favorite products have been Tazo organic chai, Good & Gather organic peppermint tea, and Good & Gather organic orange spice tea.

However, I’ve been reading that bagged tea (what I’ve been using so far) is dangerous because of microplastics used in the tea bags.

How concerned should I be? Should I stop using tea bags?

Are biodegradable tea bags better? One possibility is to buy loose leaf tea (when I need to replenish my current bagged tea) and buy my own tea bags from the local Vitamin Shoppe store (https://www.vitaminshoppe.com/p/rishi-tea-tea-filters-100-fi…).

Or is there a better solution I should try?

The washable / reusable thing works like a charm.

(There are also the metal tea bag versions that one simply drops completely into a cup.)

But getting the variety of flavors and different teas as are available in bags?

There are some, but from what I’ve seen the variety is much more limited???

Most teabags are made from paper, with a small amount of plastic used to seal them shut. But some premium brands have switched to using greater amounts of plastic mesh for their product instead.
