TEMU going "all US local"

Maybe Trump was right with the tariffs?

We will know when you buy your first American product off of Temu. A product that actually says made in the United States. I think it will be to expensive though.

The “news” this evening was reporting on the charges for small packages. iirc, there is supposed to be a $100/package charge.

Ah, the net is a wonderful thing.

Commercial carriers will be collecting 145% tariffs on declared values. The U.S. Postal Service, a government agency that offers international mail service, can choose either to charge a 120% tariff on low-value packages or a flat fee of $100 per shipment, which is set to rise to $200 on June 1.

I would suspect that TEMU has run the numbers, and found it cheaper to ship to a US warehouse, in bulk, then fulfill domestic orders from the warehouse…and they can brag about 'creating USian jobs"

Steve

Wouldn’t that still be subject to the 145% tariff?

I’m guessing they’ve found a way to get stuff into the US under the Mexico tariff regime.
