Tesla Giga Berlin in action

Wow! How can you not want a car that comes out of such a factory? How can you not want to work for such a company? Of course it’s all about recruiting.

Here’s GM’s Factory Zero video from four months ago: <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OaTtWr04qUM>. That’s their view of the future. It’s hard to see it as anybody’s first choice.

Interesting! What makes you view Tesla’s factory so positively and GM’s so negatively?

I ask because while Tesla’s video is slicker, GM’s video showed more of the nitty gritty work which may not be so appealing to some… even though both factories are doing the same stuff (except mega castings). Plus, Tesla paints more of their factory white and GM doesn’t.

I think it’s mostly that GM’s video feels much more like marketing. Lots of mysterious looking stuff doing nothing, and also some people doing things, but all put together in a video by people who didn’t understand what it was all about. Whereas Tesla’s video more or less followed the progression of the production line: machines actually doing things and some people doing other things, all progressing towards an actual vehicle. It told a story.

My impression also is that the “nitty gritty work” you refer to being shown in the GM video is simply not necessary on the Tesla line.

Or, of course, maybe it’s all my bias due to being much more interested and knowledgeable about Tesla.
