I have a friend that is a sommelier at a fancy restaurant in NYC.
I asked him recently what was the most expensive bottle of wine he has ever sold…
$30,000 for one bottle.
As they say, some people have money to burn - or drink I guess…

Several years ago, “This Old House” did a renovation of a house overlooking one of those picturesque New England harbors. The host (forget whether it was Steve Thomas or Kevin O’Connor) and Norm shook their heads and said “best view in the house (overlooking the harbor) is in the kitchen. Cooking as theater.” Of course, all the kitchens they do now are way over the top. They have done kitchens that are nearly the size of my entire condo.
Steve…has 40 year old Formica, and is fine with that
