Trouble switching to EV, poor quality cars and high costs are all taking their toll. I’ve just seen a scathing review of Audi’s Q4 E-tron. I’ve had Audi cars since the 90s and the build quality of the latest one is poor when compared to earlier ones.
Germany’s automotive industry lost around 51,500 jobs, or nearly 7% of its workforce, in the 12 months to the end of June 2025.
People is plural. Meaning a few models dominate the market. Statistical stuff, not individual stuff. This means US vendors will come to rule the market. We have the major advantages. Not the Chinese, who are bleeding the end of EV makers left and right. The Chinese are also heading into supply-side economics and talking globalism. The US has the advantages and is getting out of globalism.
As the US gathers strength in manufacturing prowess the innovation will follow. But for now we are wasting four years.
