Remember that prediction about NAFTA?
A couple years ago, Ford Motor abandoned India, having failed miserably to compete effectively in that country. Ford also abandoned South America and Australia. Ford is failing miserably in China as well.
After Ford shut down in India, they sold one plant. The other plant still sits idle. Now, it appears, Ford is fishing for a big handout from the local Indian government, to reopen the plant, to build for export only. Where would Ford export, from India? They no longer sell in India, or Australia, or South America. They already have plants in Europe and China. Where would they export? How about to North America, because Indian autoworker pay is so low, it makes Mexicans look rich.
