That’s ALWAYS! If the car detects (and it is VERY sensitive) that you aren’t paying attention for even a few short seconds, it’ll severely warn you. They even have some sort of “5 strikes and you’re out” system, that if you don’t pay proper attention 5 times, you can’t use FSD anymore for a week or so. I’ve never received even one strike. My son once received a strike, but we are still not sure why exactly, I was sitting in the passenger seat at the time, and it was midway on a 200+ mile drive where he drove pretty much the same the whole time.
Anyone who treats FSD as true self-driving will lose FSD in short order. That’s just how it works today. Some say that it’ll become true self driving soon, but no matter how good I think it is, I am not convinced that it will happen so soon (I am not convinced that MY car, and most of the other Tesla’s on the road today will be enabled to be truly self-driving. I am a little more convinced that a robotaxi might be truly self-driving sooner than generic Teslas on the street today.)
