The massive amounts of oil and gas being harvested from the Appalachian mountains

I went to visit my father recently way up in the mountains of West Virginia. Over the last 2-3 years hundreds of miles of pipelines. Miles of new roads. Generator stations, waste water disposal, and so many storage and processing facilities. It was like a different world.

I guess I wonder what u guys think. I understand the deposit is equal to 100 years of energy for the US. It’s going to take 30 years to collect the entire gas and oil deposit.

So with the current administration in the Whitehouse pushing green, but we are stockpiling these fossil fuels in exponential numbers.

So year 2030,. Are we carbon emission free, where would you invest

We will not be carbon free in 2030. POTUS said a few days ago we need fossil fuels for at least 10 more years. But I would not invest in fossil fuels because they are going to be declining and be stranded assets by 2035.

Not sure where you’re getting your information, but the State of West Virginia would like to know. Most of their production comes from stripper wells, producing less than 10bbl per day. There is some new mining going on in the Northern Panhandle, but 100 years worth? That would be a staggering find, headline news across.the country. Anybody else heard of such a thing?

PS: Oil & gas gonna be around for a very long time. It’s world market, and even if we decrease use, those countries using coal will switch because it’s cleaner, easier, and often cheaper.

Exactly what I thought. But I also saw the 36in diameter pipelines being put in, and just talking with a few workers. Funny you mentioned the Northern panhandle, because that’s exactly where I’m from and referencing my information… A little town called Middlebourne, WV
I’m no expert, on investments or the oil and gas industry, but I see potential for profit for sure. I just started I’m the fool community and thought I could get yalls perspective…
Thanks @Goofyhoofy

Oil is not cheaper than coal and it pollutes. Gas is cleaner than coal but not cheaper. Gas may be around for 30 - 40 years. Oil will be declining starting in 2025 and become insignificant by 2040.
