Tip - for those who might be planning a trip to the parks during those times, the pool closures might be an opportunity to stay at those resorts for a much cheaper price. Because such an important amenity is closed, the room rates might drop.
That was our experience several years ago. We were heading up to WDW in the winter and noticed that the Polynesian Resort pool was being refurbished. Because the pool was closed, we were able to get a room there for less than half the typical price. It’s the only time I’ve stayed “on Monorail” since I was a kid back in the seventies (when that and the Contemporary were really the only options).

You are right, Albaby. I was able to get a week at the Coronado Springs (moderate resort) at a value resort rate because of the construction of the Gran Destino DVC tower. A few years earlier, I was able to secure a DRVC rate at the Wilderness Lodge Resort (Deluxe) at a moderate resort rate because of the construction of the DVC villas at that resort. Both times, I received an exclusive “constriction” pin as a bonus.
