CATL is being tagged by DoD, as working with the Chinese military. Guess what, every US company that has a DoD contract “works with the military”.
The Ford Motor plant in Michigan is a JV with CATL, and has drawn a lot of flack from pols. In the clip I posted in another thread with a CNN talking head and the Premier of Ontario, the Premier is ranting about Chinese influence in Mexico. TFG is ranting about Chinese influence in Panama. Seems “Chinese influence” will be the lever for the reactivation and escalation of “The Roosevelt Corollary”, I expect the invasion of Panama to commence within a year.
What is amusing is waiting for TFG’s agenda to collide with Musk’s profits and supply chain in China. I doubt the Chinese obtain many “national secrets” from supplying TFG with cheap guitars or sneakers. I watched a youtube piece about that guitar. He said that, from the way it’s built, it’s from Asia, but, apparently, no explicit country of origin marking on it. So much for “caring for the USian worker”.
