The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention expressed concern Tuesday about an unusual outbreak of monkeypox in the United Kingdom, suggesting there appears to be at least some undetected transmission of the virus there and warning of the possibility that the outbreak could spread beyond U.K. borders.

All the Portuguese cases involve men, most of them young, authorities said. They have skin lesions and were reported to be in stable condition. Authorities did not say if the men had a history of travel to Africa or any links with recent cases in Britain or elsewhere.
British health authorities said earlier this week they had identified four cases of monkeypox spread in London among gay and bisexual men. Spain’s Health Ministry said it had detected eight suspected cases of monkeypox that still needed to be confirmed.

The WHO made the same declaration in 2022, when the virus spread to many countries where it wasn’t already endemic, or consistently present. Wealthy Western nations were able to quickly stem the outbreaks, but little assistance arrived in the DRC and other African countries at the epicenter of the epidemic.
Now, infection rates are rising, the virus is evolving and the WHO is sounding the alarm again.

Both from reading solid research and my own personal experience, I am convinced that gay males excel in promiscuity and in the spread of STDs. Both the overly protective politically correct types and the terrified prudes need to shut up so that necessary education can get done.
