Trump Steps Up Attack on Fed as He Demands a Governor Resign

President Trump demanded that Lisa Cook, a Federal Reserve governor, resign, citing unconfirmed claims of mortgage fraud. It was the latest move in his campaign to remake the central bank.

The ironies of this claim are astounding!

Yes, but my sense of horrified disgusted astonishment has been so overstimulated over the last months that there is almost nothing left — except expectation of much worse and more reckless to come, followed finally (may the gods send sooner than later) by a nationwide fit of disgust and revulsion and desire for root and branch reform.

“Pulte, chair of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, posted on X a letter to the attorney general stating that it appears Cook “has falsified bank documents and property records to acquire more favorable loan terms, potentially committing mortgage fraud under the criminal statutes.”

I don’t get it, was she doing it the wrong way?

In case you missed it, Pulte also issued a directive to Freddie and Fannie to consider crypto assets in their underwriting guidelines.

Cook, according to Pulte’s letter, acquired a 15-year, $203,000 mortgage for a property in Ann Arbor, Michigan, on June 18, 2021, with the commitment to use the home as her primary residence for at least a year. Then, two weeks later, she bought a condo in Atlanta and took out a 30-year, $520,000 mortgage on it, also affirming that it would serve as her primary residence for a year.

Yeah, I know. But why is she being targeted? Is it because her fraud wasn’t big enough?

Trump has no respect for pikers like her.

Lisa Cook should demand that Trump resign immediately for making unlawful and unconstitutional changes to the government institutions, deception, fraud, self enrichment, dishonesty, inhuman treatment of people, making up conspiracy accusations, and not letting the American people see the Epstein files being keep secret.

This a fly spec compared to the stuff that Trump has foisted on this country. Like accepting a personal gift of $1 billion jet airplane from the Arabs which is illegal.

It will never happen, but Cook’s response should be that she will resign as soon as Trump resigns for the frauds he was convicted of.

OK, but did she say it was going to be the first year?

Trump is 1000 times worse for all his lies and frauds, but he is protected by the Republican Party from prosecution for now.

Well. You never seem to complain about the blatant stuff the CONVICTED FELON has done and not suffered consequences for.

I’m serious. Does the bank require that it be your “first year” of ownership? The way you phrased it she said it would be her primary residence for at least a year. Maybe she’s going to rent it out for a year and then move in. Is the contract that specific that it has to be her “first” year? I don’t know, I’m just asking.

Trump was facing a maximum sentence of 136 years and $170,000 in fines for his 34 actual felony convictions. Why do you think he was so desperate to win the presidency?

I’m not a lawyer either. She’ll never face that harsh of a punishment, even if she miraculously gets convicted of these ginned up charges. Proving intent to defraud is a tough nut to crack…especially when the prosecutors are incompetent buffoons.

Typically yes. It’s often coupled with an intent to occupy within 60 days of the executed contract for primary residential loans. Lower and more flexible rates require some sort of declaration that the loan is legitimately for a primary residence.

For that reason and for others, too: revenge on his perceived enemies; his opportunities for financial gain; and for gratification of his bottomless ego. These motivations are obvious for anyone paying attention.

I don’t know, but signing two contracts within two weeks in two different states… It’s quite a stretch to say it’s not misleading/inaccurate/false statements. “Oh, I forget about that Michigan contract two weeks ago.”

And let’s not forget Elon, who claimed if Trump did not win, he’d also be in prison. Why? Why did he think that? Why do investors not care? Oh, and he recently tweeted not to worry about the mid-terms because he has a plan.

I don’t know either. On the other hand…I do know that Ann Arbor is a college town. And I do know that people are able to use primary residential loans to purchase homes for family members attending college, if they intend to eventually use the home as their primary residence.

More importantly, I also know that out of all of the residential loan applications to investigate, Pulte is pushing for DOJ investigations into two black women who are political opponents of TFG. Seems weird.

It’s usually best not to speculate until all the facts come out.
