Like others I receive a lot of unwanted email and typically just delete it, block it or send it to my junk mail folder. Here lately I’ve been receiving a lot of girly stuff (i.e.: needlepoint, dresses, shoes, etc.). I kinda suspected it’s stuff my boss (wife) has looked up on her laptop but just wrote it off. Now I’m convinced.
I recently worked with Pampered Chef for a super secret Christmas gift and low and behold a day or two later the boss is receiving emails from Pampered Chef wanting her to attend a party or something. Her email address is different than mine. What’s the deal? This is totally blowing my gift idea.
I’m on a desktop and she’s on a laptop. We are both on Windows 11. The only sharing we should be doing is via WiFi for our printer.
The research I’ve done suggests a VPN will eliminate this problem. I run Malwarebytes but my subscription doesn’t have a VPN. They offer it for an additional fee but I’m hoping to avoid it. Trying to cheep it for the boss.
Oh, yea, I have to keep this on the quite side so she doesn’t find out I’m on to her.
Any suggestions on how to carry on business in private?

Use the library connections?
If your email and her’s are “linked by Google algo” then you need a whole diff email on a clandestine “clean” computer.
As that guy in Paris said to Liam “good luck”.

My “free” CCleaner came with “free” Avast which apparently comes with a “free” VPN.
So far I’ve not activated the VPN.

Hey Ralph. I run paid for CCleaner monthly on the first. I’ve never noticed a VPN. Let me call it up and look around. Thanks for the tip.

I just called up CCleaner and couldn’t find Avast. I then did a search and it looks like Avast is a stand alone product with no connection to CCleaner. Subscription is more than the add on price Malwarebytes wants.

That’s interesting.
CCleaner just did a major update, two weeks ago. As part of that , a window said “free Avast”, so I told it to go ahead. (I’ve used Avast in the past, and am comfortable with it.)
N it’s offering a “free” VPN.
Now, I’m concerned.
I wonder if I been scammed, trojaned, wormed, or virused?

I checked and I bought CCleaner during the Black Friday specials. So, I now have a ‘premium’ CCleaner.
Avast came with it. And, on the Avast screen, there’s a link to a VPN.
That’s all I can say.

OK, this is about the 10th time I’ve tried to quote you and reply and the Fool keeps telling me the message can’t be empty.
It ain’t empty.
Now I forgot what I was going to say after all that BS.
Oh, yea, now I remember. Thanks for your input. Now I’m wishing there was another solution to the problem other than using a VPN.

I’ve used a VPN for many years. PIA has been good for me and it’s not expensive. Best of all it’s fast…doc
