Report that VM Ware is about to buy PVTL for $15 per share. Both companies are subs of DELL.
Hate to be cynical but hasn’t Dell done this kind of thing before? Drive the price down to unreasonable levels and then take it out.
i should have known better and took a pretty good beating in PVTL. Just sold after hours at $14.20-21.

I would like to add that I’m 5% in at $8.50! And that I was laughed at for posting a couple of months ago about it’s ”high Oomph” and low EV/S. It’s was in the top 8 for Oomph of Saas stocks I track.

Dell benefits from PVTL’s success in the market and in equity appreciation both as a spin out and effectively a high end reseller channel. If you have any evidence whatsoever that they drove “the price down to unreasonable levels” to take it out, then lay them out. Until then it is conspiracy theory type stuff, and a weak way for people to rationalize away blame for taking a loss. I will chalk it up to mediocre product and lousy execution.
Don’t know about your rationalization charge but i will admit to weak thinking. Same allegation was widely made against Michael Dell when he took his flagship company private several years back. I found myself to be among his defenders at that time.
mea culpa for sure on my buy of what looked like a cheap, well managed, hypergrowth play in PVTL. Glad to be out with a smaller loss than expected.
No conspiracy alleged or even necessary. Dell looks like a one man show, as far as control is concerned.
