In the big picture of our lives, now disrupted in this TMF world, does it really matter? Most of us had several boards that are just gone. Don’t like this, or the folks that popped in, FA the board, take it down!

Speaking of Ukrainian villages, good article on nations refusing to export products and the food shortages that may result.
Kinda one of the planks of my thesis that the world’s population will not be sustained despite the ability to produce copious amounts of grains and petrochemicals.
It costs a s///ton of money and energy to transport commodities across oceans. It’s going to get very interesting as supply chain links get even more snarled.

You want financial? OK. This past week, I added to my GOOG, bought a bit of SNOW, and am looking hard at ACN, BLK, and ADBE. If MSFT drops much more, I’ll add to that. I’ve had cash on hand for quite a while, waiting for times like these. Some will move into Treasuries and/or CDs as rates perk up. Some will drizzle into rock-solid GARP equities. There. Happy?

Great… but the conversation is not about financial. Pointing it out may be “unpopular”. I will leave it with this. There are few boards with a “leader”. Hate to see this board closed because of all non-financial posts.

Unfortunately the person you are talking to is someone who was in my p-box for a long time, so I didn’t come here as a refugee.
Sadly, I miss you all, but just do not much like it here or at the facebook refugee site. I do like most of you here and everyone at the facebook site, but neither is filling the void.
I’ll probably drop in once in a blue moon.

Canonian’s Discord board is picking up new members periodically. Albaby is there. PucksFool is there (though he uses a different moniker now). Several others.
And you can avoid the political stuff if it annoys you. There are “health” and “STEM” and “astronomy” and other boards of interest.

Yeah, I figured that out when you introduced yourself when you signed up.
I think that forum leans to the right, but there’s still some good conversation to be had.
Political stuff generally only annoys me when it’s from GQP types.
I did look at Discord when the Boards were closing, and, I don’t remember exactly, but I believe I could not join after multiple attempts, everything seemed ok, but then it would hang and I could never become a member.

I, too, tried Discord, but in the end declined, don’t want to relearn another venue, so will poke around the old bones here, there are some boards of interest, but sadly many of the regulars have bolted… On the other hand most of the Ignored are gone, so it’s not all bad… Only one or two on my list, so far… Will see what happens, go from there…
It gave me a hiccup, but once in it was fine. It’s sorta structured like TMF (or at least the one started by Canonian does), but you can edit posts if you botch your typing.

Yes, there are QOP types. One is seriously anti-intellectual. But most are there to have honest conversations. And you can mute any “channels” you like, so perhaps you would want to mute “political right”. There’s also a “middle” and a “left”.
Plus health, astronomy, STEM, and several others. Pretty much no politics on those.
