Where is everyone

Hi All, where did the vibrant MI fools community go. Was an alternative forum set up? The activity on this board as collapsed :weary:

Iā€™ve not heard of an alternative location.
Activity has fallen through the floor with this unnecessarily complex interface and TMFā€™s decision to erase all of our history instead of loading it onto a searchable archive server.
Itā€™s almost like TMF did this intentionally so they could get rid of all the free boards, instead of just most of them.

In my estimation the biggest contributor to the fall in post volume is the loss of our biggest contributor - Mungofitch. He was responsible for many of the ideas that were discussed here and on the BRK board. I think he also had access to data that most of us do not.

I still value the posts here, and will continue to read and add when/if Iā€™m able. I also greatly miss Mungofitchā€™s posts and the conversations they prompted.

I do not know about the other users, but I almost never come to this web site anymore because the user interface is so confusing that I cannot figure it out.

If the TMF staff is paying attentionā€¦it would be nice to be able to see commentary on individual stocks. Type in the stock ticker symbol and see commentary. On a paid board like this shouldnā€™t have any spam like on the yahoo board.

You are actually on the FREE side of TMF boards. You may want to check on the PAID side.

You are actually on the FREE side of TMF boards.

This confusion is an example of the unnecessary complexity of this setup. Still, as with JohnIII above, Iā€™ll be hanging around.

Everyone has implemented the optimal Mechanical Investing strategy, so thereā€™s really nothing left to discuss. :smirk:

I think it is just part of a trend. The screens have not been working for a long time, so when the board became harder to navigate and Jim left, it just caused more people to leave. I think there has been less activity for a while now.

For everyone that prefers the old system, which of course include the Mechanical Investing board:

Where? The links are to MI board. I donā€™t see Jim or Berkshire board.

The link to the Berkshire board is at the bottom of the page under stocks. Click on ā€œBā€ and then find Berkshire.

The fool murdered the free boards. If you want to find the old posters, youā€™ll find them here at a new location which, amazingly, resembles the old fool boards:
