All of us who own FSLY probably wondered why FSLY grew 19.8% (and up 1% in AH) on (seemingly) no news, other than stimulus package negotiations restarting. My friend and board member Clyde and I were discussing this and he pointed out that FSLY was an IBD stock of the day and hit a technical buy point that accelerated the growth. Technicals and IBD are especially Off Topic so nothing further about those two topics please.

The announcement for that partnership was announced almost a month ago. The naive side of me thinks its just someone buying a lot of shares combined with some momentum/technical trading, the cynical side says someone knows something we don’t, the practical side says I don’t really care.

…the whisper on this is that their beta test is going better than expected. If they can squeeze more performance on the Edge, it’s a game changer. But clearly somebody with deep pockets wants more of FSLY.

A. It was too cheap as compared to NET because of the TikTok fear.
That fear has seemed to pass at least for now.

B. NET EV/NTM is 28.4x with 48% Revenue growth
FSLY EV/NTM was only at 25x with 62% Revenue growth.
Now FSLY is priced more accordingly with an
EV/NTM of 31.5X

Might not be related to the bump over past few days, but TikTok came in as the most downloaded non-game app across Google Play and iTunes in Q3.
If TikTok is still a big chunk of FSLY’s revenue, and charge by usage…

Feels like we are shopping for data to justify the outcome, after the fact.

I am long FSLY. Happy whatever the reason(s) may be.

The beta test has been doing better than expected for the last 6 months. FWIW that was my primary reason for acquiring FSLY. Its a good reason for buying more.
