Found this board a long time ago, but just started to get really in depth with it this past week and WOW, I’m upset I waited so long!
Saul, thanks so much for everything you have posted. It is inspiring and really made me want to take even more ownership of my investments. I’m a 28 year old Foolish investor, but I’ve basically been blindly following a couple of the Fool services (which isn’t a bad thing!), but after reading some of your information and your Knowledge Base, I want to concentrate my portfolio down to around 25 or less companies.
You helped me see that by comparing my self to the Indexes and just having the goal of “beating the S&P 500”, I was truly limiting my return potential.
I’m way too young to think like that!
The only debt we have is our mortgage, my wife and I both work, and we only invest money we won’t need for 5+ years… I’m in a perfect position to concentrate my portfolio.
Anyways, just wanted to let you know you inspired me. I’ll post here and on a board of my own that I asked to have created just so I don’t overload your board with nonsense.
One question. I’ve read through your Knowledge base and I’m working on creating my Revenue/Earnings tables… just wondering if anyone has some pre made excel tables that I can plug and play my own data sets into that will automatically calculate things like 1,2,3,4, and 5 year QoQ and annual % increases for the different metrics we want to consider (Earnings, Revenue, PE, etc)?
If not, I’ll do the leg work to create one and share, but I didn’t want to recreate the wheel if there was already one formatted.
Thanks and Fool on!
