WHAT?!?!
Marc (the new owner) was proud as punch to show off his baby and even agreed to a demonstration of the power of his app. I think he does the same in shopping centre carparks to intrigue the locals. The Xpeng G6 reverse parks itself while he stands there with phone in hand.
At approximately AU$55,000 (US$35,000), the Xpeng prices itself between the Polestar 4 and the Leapmotor C10 that we have reviewed recently. Majella tells me that the Xpeng is certainly more luxurious and comfortable than our old Model 3. Sorry, Tess. She also compares it favourably to the BMWs we looked at a couple of weeks ago, and at half the price. The Xpeng G6 is approximately the same price as the Kia EV5 but has much more tech. It appears to be about the same size as a Model Y, but is $10,000 cheaper. Good value for money.
I smell a surge in the price wars!
2025 gonna be a rough competitive year for EV manufacturers. But good for the consumer.
Chevyβs Equinox EV is cheaper than the IC model.
More and more $35k EV models are appearing which makes them competitive with ICs.
EVs will rule the new vehicle sales. But those without the means to buy new will keep ICs on the road. Too early to sound the death knell for ICs.
