The only time horizon that matters is short term. All the current bunch is concerned with is keeping the mob diverted with knocking over third world countries and showing them large numbers of brown people being deported, because, by the time the mob catches on, the current PTB, like good “JCs”, will have made their loot, and moved on, so the revolt is someone else’s problem.

Yes.
It is difficult to separate METAR from politics when this stuff comes down.
We desperately need to rebuild and reform our political institutions. The Constitution was written with an explicit intention that it would be amended and reformed. Well, that capability has been dead for a couple decades.

There has been a clearly stated fear, for several years/decades, that a full on Constitutional Convention, would write some extremely undesireable provisions into the new document, due to the…ummm…“passions” of the moment.

Here’s an interesting look at what could/should be changed in our Constitution to bring it into the modern era. The educational message is wrapped in a political thriller type novel. The best part is all the discussion of the history of the Constitution and how it could be improved.
