From the snail mail flyer, it appears that $500 will get a Nest Cam WiFi video cam and a Canary Home Security device… I suspect a monthly fee is also involved, but that’s not clear.
It appears to be an ‘inside the home’ job, but still, it’s another step toward ubiquitous security cameras.

I liked the Canary approach, but SimliSafe and a couple others are good. I didn’t think Canary needed the overpriced Nestcamera, thought they had their own. I don’t think Canary can use window and door sensors while SimpliSafe can. Canary alerts your cell phone and lets you watch, call the police and set off a very loud alarm. It is wifi to internet, but SimpliSafe uses Cellular, which is harder to “cut”.
