A couple of my holdings have a monthly payout. In mid-September 2024, one of them appeared to pay a lower dividend. But wait, … they changed something. The payout frequency.
Ready for this ETF name?
YieldMax Magnificent 7 Fund of Option Income ETFs, or ticker YMAG
Magnificent 7 stocks are, of course, Alphabet (GOOG), Microsoft (MSFT), Apple (AAPL), Tesla (TSLA), Amazon (AMZN), Meta Platforms (META) & Nvidia (NVDA).
Two payouts in 7 days is hardly an indicator of a long term trend. But, YMAG apparently want to give the idea a try.
I was not aware that YMAX has made a similar switch.
Mapping the seven component ETFs
Group A - Google, Tesla
Group B - Nvidia, Facebook/Meta
Group C - Microsoft
Group D - Amazon, Apple
Obviously, the YMAG payout is going to be dependent on % of the individual company ETFs. But, will this impact the week 3 payout more?
We are really saying the same thing

Regarding YMAG - a data-point
I just noticed the fourth installment of the [edit: October] weekly div posted on 10/25.
Relative to the other payouts - the fourth is much, much lower.
11/01
YMAG - new data-point.
First Nov payment today. Payout similar to Oct week 1
Significant change to last week’s payout.
With the limited data we have, it is too early to tell. But, the Oct payout is more like X, 1.5X, 1.5X, 0.4X. Nov 2024 has started with X
11/22
YMAG paid its 4th div for Nov.
Within the month, the trend seemed to stay the same
So, if the first payout was Y, the set of four weeks were
Y, 1.3Y, 1.3Y, 0.4Y
I originally thought, with the holiday, YMAG would skip next week.
But, that’s not the case. With the first payout in Dec shifted to Mon 12/02/24, there are five payouts in Dec 2024 https://www.yieldmaxetfs.com/distribution-schedule/
Good discovery prior to Thanksgiving. Now I can probably grab myself more YMAG, as a good stock-ing stuffer.
