Can anyone point me toward a good tool, spreadsheet or method to track my performance. I don’t do anything fancy just buying and selling stocks periodically, holding some cash and adding new cash.
Try Sauls Knowledgebase Part 3 on Calculating Portfolio Returns.

caps4GROWTH,
Here’s a good discussion we had about this last year: http://discussion.fool.com/how-do-you-track-your-portfolio-32732…
And another discussion we had about this in 2016: http://discussion.fool.com/portfolio-tracking-tool-32182622.aspx…
And, at the beginning of Part 3 to the Knowledgebase, Saul shares how he calculates his returns: http://discussion.fool.com/knowledgebase-newly-revised-part-3-32…
Hope this helps.

Matt,
How on earth are you able to pull up old info from the boards like that?
I have been looking for a way that is satisfactory.
I can always click the ‘Repy Later’ button to save a post, but then there is no good way to organize them by any sort of category/ticker/etc…
Thanks,
A.J.
Thanks for the info, I appreciate it immensely!

Download version of Quicken which synchs with your bank accounts and brokerage accounts. It will track everything from returns to capital gains to taxes to balances and beyond.
I use Interactive Brokers and they provide some great portfolio analysis tools that include performance updates at the frequency of your choice and against the benchmarks of your choice.
Phoolio. There used to be an awesome tool someone created for these boards called BoredKeep but I don’t use it so of course, I can’t find the link. Maybe Matt has it!
The tool is Boardkeep.com. The extension is available in the Chrome store (chrome://extensions/) if you use the Chrome browser. I have no idea if it plugs into other browsers, but I would assume that is does.

AJ, you mean you don’t just remember where everything is?
I happened to save those two threads in my “Reply Later” threads. And, yes, it is a pain to keep track of stuff.
Brittlerock, Boardkeep was an awesome tool. Is it still operational? It was just one of Neil’s (nevercontent) many great contributions to the boards.
Matt
Matt,
Boardkeep is still available as a Chrome plugin. Don’t know about other browsers.
