Buying support for DOGE

Recall, that “supply side economics” was sold by appealing to people’s selfishness “let us defund some programs, and maybe you will get a tax cut”, “let us give more money to the “JCs”, and maybe you will get a job”.

Same playbook being used again.

U.S. President Donald Trump revealed on Wednesday that he’s considering sending 20% of the money saved by the Department of Government Efficiency advisory group to Americans.

Musk has said that his goal is to cut federal spending by $2 trillion, out of a $6.75 trillion annual budget the latest fiscal year ended last Sept. 30. If that were met, Fishback suggests taking 20% of that, or $400 billion, and distributing it to taxpayers. That would amount to approximately $5,000 per household, he said.

Of course, we can expect the distribution calculation to skew to favor those who enjoy the highest income. That “$5,000” average would work out to millions for a “JC”, and bus fare for Proles.

This needs to be filed with the waitress tip tax cut.

Fool me once shame on you.

Fool me twice shame on me.

The tax cut on tips has nothing to do with waitresses. It is about kickbacks demanded by pols for corrupt contracting, which SCOTUS has defined as legal “gratuities” ie tips.

Agreed. All they have to do is float the idea and public support for DOGE cuts will improve. Heck, people might demand more, more, and more thinking their rebate will go up!

It was a vote getter in NV and elsewhere. It is not going forward for those who voted for it. It is not going forward for anyone you think it wanted it. So it is not for them either. BTW you claim was one fear but it ain’t on.

Why limit the payment to such a small amount? With no debt ceiling, make it $5B per person, thus everyone is a JC.

That’s Communism!!! “Everyone knows”, the “JCs” need to be rewarded for their toils providing a place for the Proles to work, so they are entitled to all the money.
