The article misquotes the 60% interest if you listen to the interview. The 60% want to drive. That does not mean that 60% want to drive old cars. Later in the interview, the cars wanted were from the 80s, '90s, and early 2000s, the Z’s couldn’t care less about Boomer collectibles.

fwiw, it seems some of the shows I have attended for years are shrinking. The “orphan” show in Ypsilanti was cancelled this year, due to poor turnout the last couple years. The local VW show has shrunk significantly as well, though the all German brands show at a museum near Kalamazoo continues to grow.
