External SSD enclosure use on Windows 11

After trying to get both a Sabrent and an ASUS external SSD enclosure to work with a Western Digital Blue 1 TB SSD drive connected with a USB-C cable on Windows 11 for a week, I could not solve the issue of Windows periodically, and for no discernible reason, beeping and closing any Explorer window open to the mounted drive. These events were always accompanied by an Ntfs System message:

Ntfs error 98 - “Volume E: (\Device\HarddiskVolume11) is healthy. No action is needed.”

And occasionally, I’d get more concerning errors like this:

disk error 51 - “An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk2\DR3 during a paging operation.”

The same enclosure/drive connected to Windows 10 has no issues.

I’m too old to try harder than this to get a computer to do what I want. So, I’m sticking with a Samsung T7 Shield 1GB USB-C connected SSD, which has worked with no problems whatsoever for a month.
